U.N. Officer Blasts Biden for Violating The Human Rights Of Women And Girls
Pres. Biden has proposed changes to Title IX to enable it to yank federal funds from educational institutions that bar men who "identify" as female from female sports, locker rooms, and bathrooms
When Pres. Joe Biden took office, he unilaterally issued an executive order declaring that males who “identify “as females are the legal equivalent of females and entitled to all of their rights and privileges.
His absurd pronouncement, which has no basis in law, was encouraged by legacy women’s groups like NOW, The Women’s Sports Foundation, Legal Momentum, National Women’s Law Caucus, etc.
Women who complained about unfairness and the implicit danger of males in female sports and intimate spaces were viciously bullied, marginalized, excluded, and silenced.
So it is like a bolt of lightning in a dark sky that Reem Alsalem, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, has written to the Biden administration to oppose proposed rules changes to Title IX, the federal law passed in 1972 that prohibited sex discrimination against women.
She writes that the “forseen changes to Title IX” would deny girls and women in sports the opportunity to compete fairly, expose them to risk of injury, and result in their loss of athletic opportunities, public recognition and scholarships.
All of these things are currently happening and more (ex. males housed in female prisons, admitted to DV centers, working in female intimate care settings).
Proposed changes to Title IX would give the Biden administration a tool to enforce its dictum in the face of growing public opposition. More than 20 states have passed state laws barring male students from women’s sports teams, locker rooms, and bathrooms. Biden wants to force compliance by permitting the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) to yank funding from educational institutions that refuse to give trans who “identify” as males the same legal status as females.
The proposed regulations would empower the U.S. Dept. of Education to yank funding from schools / colleges that refuse to allow trans (males) access to female sports teams, locker rooms, and bathrooms.
Alsalem expressed “serious concern” the DOE’s proposed amendments “would result in the unfair treatment and unlawful and extreme forms of discrimination against most women and girls on the basis of female sex.”
She asked the Biden administration to “indicate the steps being taken at the federal level to ensure that the human rights of most women and girls, namely those born female, can exercise their right to freely partake in sport and cultural life, as well as their rights to privacy, equality and non-discrimination…”
Alsalem cleared a path through the almost impenetrable thicket of nonsense and misinformation that has been pushed by the Biden administration since 2021 to support Biden’s executive order. Here are some passages from her letter:
