It all boils down to this.

A glance at history books shows that women were treated under the law only slightly better than chattel throughout history. They fought for the vote, the right not to be beaten and raped, the right to their own children, rights to their property and to the money they earned, and a myriad of other rights.

Generations of courageous women and men worked to pass laws to protect women from sex discrimination and ensure equal treatment under the law.

But three of the four women on the U.S. Supreme Court - Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson - effectively argued this week in United States v. Skrmetti that women do not really deserve all of these rights.
