Precipitous Drop In ACLU Contributions And Grants
Are donors rejecting the ACLU's advocacy for transgender rights, defense of books depicting graphic sexual material in school libraries, and opposition to age verification on porn sites?
In the year ending in March 2023, grants and donations to the ACLU fell by 8.32%.
That’s a significant drop, and comes on the heels of a 5.51% decline in contributions and grants in the year ending in March 2022.
ACLU tax forms (990) show a 13.38 % decline in a vital revenue source in two years. This should make a non-profit like the ACLU seriously question its priorities.
The ACLU did not respond to an email request for comment Friday by press time.
In recent years, the ACLU has shifted its focus to advocate for social issues that make many Americans feel uncomfortable.
