Dems Attack Elon Musk For (Gasp!) Threatening To Restore Free Speech On Twitter
Dems resurrected year-old "Karen" incident to attack Musk, after Pres. Joe Biden earlier this week threatened to launch a security investigation into Musk's purchase of Twitter.
No one seems to have cared about the use of the slur “Karen” to denigrate white women until this week, when a Democratic loyalist deployed it in an attack on Elon Musk.
“Karen” in recent years was frequently and widely used as a pejorative for middle class white woman who refuse to impersonate a doormat when they feel aggrieved.
On Friday, a tweet storm erupted over Musk’s December 2021 use of “Karen” to refer to U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass, whom he also likened to an “angry mom” after she demanded he “stop freeloading off everyone else” and pay taxes.
BREAKING?
“BREAKING,” reads a breathless tweet by Erica Marsh, described as a “Proud Democrat: Former Field Organizer to elect President Biden, Volunteer for the Obama Foundation ((She/Her).”
Musk, the “richest man in the world” disrespected Warren by calling her “Senator Karen.”
There is nothing “BREAKING” about Marsh’s tweet, as she well knows.
Musk’s alleged act of disrespect toward Sen. Warren is almost a year old. And here is it is, in all of its hideous awfulness, ”Please don’t call the manager on me, Senator Karen.” Musk also states - utterly contemptibly! -that Warren reminded him “of when I was a kid and my friends angry Mom would just randomly yell at me for no reason.”
Yet, more than 25,000 Twitter users had retweeted Marsh’s tweet by early Friday afternoon, and more than 55,600 people had “loved” it.
So why did Marsh suddenly resurrect this stale incident? Could it be an attempt to manipulate American women by roiling anger against Musk? But why would a former Biden organizer and Obama Foundation volunteer want to do this?
Security Threat?
It is probably purely coincidental that Pres. Joe Biden, whose family allegedly has engaged in influence peddling to America’s enemies for decades, alarmingly threatened a federal investigation of Musk’s purchase of Twitter on national security grounds.
Reporter: “Do you think Elon Musk is a threat to US national security? … And should the US — and with the tools you have — investigate his joint acquisition of Twitter with foreign governments, which include the Saudis?”
Biden: “I think that Elon Musk’s cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at. Whether or not he is doing anything inappropriate, I’m not suggesting that. I’m suggesting that it’s worth being looked at.”
Biden added “there’s a lot of ways” that Musk could be investigated.
Twitter has been partially owned by Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal since 2011. Talal pledged additional equity for Musk’s Twitter purchase. Talal’s firm Kingdom Holdings currently owns about 4% of the platform, making him the second-largest shareholder after Musk
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan declined to elaborate on Biden’s remarks.
Meanwhile, a coalition of “civil rights” groups, #StopToxicTwittrer, has organized to pressure American corporations to stop advertising on twitter.
The coalition is led by Media Matters, a supposedly non-partisan group dedicated to “correcting conservative misinformation” in the U.S. media, and a group called Free Press which “supports tighter governmental control over the internet.”
It is ironic that all of this occurred on Veteran’s Day. Generations of Americans have fought and died for the founding principle of free speech. At one time, Democrats advocated for freedom of speech too. One has wonder what has changed?
